Twin Showdown Highlights Duke’s 2025 Open Practice at Cameron Indoor

Fans got their first live look at the Duke Blue Devils’ 2025-26 roster during an open practice held Tuesday, August 5, at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Among the standout moments of the evening was an exciting twin-on-twin matchup: Cayden Boozer defending his brother Cameron Boozer during a competitive intrasquad scrimmage.

The Boozer brothers—sons of Duke legend Carlos Boozer—have brought buzz and national attention to Durham. Cameron, a five-star forward and one of the top recruits in the 2025 class, showcased his versatile offensive skillset. He hit jumpers from the perimeter, worked well in the post, and looked comfortable making plays for teammates. Cayden, a skilled point guard in his own right, impressed on the other end with physical defense, quick hands, and smart ball distribution.

This rare sibling rivalry played out in front of more than 4,000 energized fans. Admission was free, and the event featured music, giveaways, and a festive, high-energy atmosphere. Head coach Jon Scheyer, entering his fourth year at the helm, used the event to connect with the Duke community and highlight the depth of this season’s roster.

In addition to the Boozers, several other players turned heads. Sophomore guard Caleb Foster looked stronger and more confident running the offense, while sharpshooter Darren Harris lit up the scoreboard with multiple three-pointers. Isaiah Evans, another returning guard, flashed improved athleticism and decision-making.

Freshmen like Dame Sarr and Sebastian Wilkins each brought energy and scoring pop to the scrimmage. Sarr threw down a powerful dunk and drained a deep three, while Wilkins picked off a pass and finished with a two-handed slam in transition. Patrick Ngongba, returning from injury, showed touch in the post and a willingness to facilitate as a big man.
