CRIMSON TIDE FANS HOLD THEIR BREATH: Kalen DeBoer Reveals Ryan Williams’ Injury Status Ahead of Wisconsin Showdown

 

 

The Alabama Crimson Tide are rolling into Week 3 with momentum, but questions still linger around one of their brightest young stars. Wide receiver Ryan Williams, the electric playmaker who led Alabama in receiving a season ago, remains day-to-day after suffering a concussion in the opener against Florida State. Head coach Kalen DeBoer shared the latest update Monday, and with Wisconsin looming, fans everywhere are waiting anxiously to see if Williams will be ready to take the field in what could be a pivotal September showdown.

After Ryan Williams missed Alabama football’s home-opening win against Louisiana Monroe, Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer said Monday, Sept. 8 he is “day-to-day,” along with a number of other players heading into Alabama’s Week 3 meeting against Wisconsin.

 

Williams, who suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of Alabama’s loss to Florida State. warmed up before Alabama’s 73-0 win against Louisiana Monroe, working with Crimson Tide quarterback Austin Mack.

In the days leading up to Alabama’s win against ULM, DeBoer said Williams was “coming along nicely” and that he had been “on the practice field.”

 

Lotzeir Brooks started for Williams against the Warhawks.

Williams started the season with five catches on 11 targets for 30 yards against Florida State. He also had a team-high three drops. Williams led Alabama in receiving in 2024.

Alabama football injury updates: Will Jam Miller play against Wisconsin?

DeBoer said he is “optimistic” Alabama running back Jam Miller (collarbone) “could” play against the Badgers, adding he’s “chomping at the bit” to return, but that he won’t know until later in the week.

Linebacker Jah-Marien Latham (lower-body), defensive tackle Tim Keenan III (ankle) also missed Alabama’s win against ULM.

 

Alabama defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman is out for the season with a lower-body injury.

Alabama continues the 2025 season Saturday, Sept. 13 at home against Wisconsin. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on ABC.
