Jurgen Klopp slams critics of Darwin Nunez and Liverpool frontline

Jurgen Klopp hit back at Darwin Nunez’ criticism after Uruguay ended an 11-match drought against West Ham United. The forward started at left-back and made notable progress in Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Manchester United, but cursed the woodwork when the post refused to get on the scoresheet. It didn’t matter for Liverpool as they secured a convincing 5-1 win to book their League Cup semi-final against Fulham. Curtis Jones scored an assist in the second half, while Dominic Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah also got on the scoresheet against the Hammers.

Klopp was full of praise for his forwards after seeing them struggle to score goals recently. “It doesn’t matter whether Darwin starts from the center or the left.” When Darwin was asked about his decision to play Núñez, he told reporters, “He can play there, there’s no question. It is important for us to have diverse opportunities.“I thought he did a really good job tonight. It was protected there and there were a few others, I like. Darwin is behind this threat. It failed a little more on message, but it was a very good game on the last line. “If we start like that, we start with two guys today who might drop a little bit to 10th, but with Dom on the other side and Joey (Joe Gomez) chasing him, it’s all good again. “I know we’re second in the league now, it’s not bad, but you have to talk about us every day, so you make a story and suddenly everything is fine.

After 0-0, you talk about who doesn’t score . and who doesn’t score. Here we go. The front line don’t shoot.”Sometimes when I read all this, I hear it’s a story. Just looking at the title makes me think, “Oh my God.” I think you should come up with these stories. We strive to do our best despite all our human frailties. “It hasn’t been bad so far. Tonight was really good, but by Saturday we have to go up another 40, 50, 60 percent.

Arsenal is an incredibly strong and difficult opponent. “We must try to become even stronger.”Meanwhile, Klopp highlighted Jones’ performance and was impressed with how Harvey Elliott stepped in when Salah started on the right wing. “Honestly, he looked better,” he said of Jones. “This is very important because it brings agility to the game. He can’t do it against every opponent, but there are a few he can. You have to go through the first line and then get the ball.“His second goal was a crazy goal because it led to a penalty shootout.

It’s a very rare event, but it meant a lot to him and it was a very good match. It looked pretty new, not having been played thousands of minutes in the last few weeks. This is not surprising. “The overall performance was good. Fortunately, Harvey played the role of righty differently than Mo. This is important because no one should play as Mo. Without Mo, we have to play to our strengths and Harvey has done that. It’s great.
