The North Carolina Tar Heels enter this week’s ACC Tournament in Charlotte as the No. 4 seed with a double bye.
They won’t play their first game until Thursday, and a win could see them go up against Duke for the third time this season. As we sit here in March with the NCAA Tournament looming, the Tar Heels are currently hoping to improve their seeding.
In Monday’s updated Bracketology from Joe Lunardi on ESPN, he has the Tar Heels back down to a No. 6 seed after their loss to Duke on Saturday.
Part of that seeding could be due to the fact that they lost Caleb Wilson for the remainder of the year. However, even as a No. 6 seed, it’s a better spot than where they were a season ago.
The Tar Heels have hovered around a five seed for a few weeks now, getting as high as a No. 4 seed. But a loss to NC State and now Duke have dropped them, according to Lunardi. This week will present another chance for the team to improve their resume.
