Heurelho Gomes says Ederson Moraes is a more “perfect” goalkeeper than Alisson Becker.
TalkSPORT asked if the former Tottenham Hotspur No.1 will make Manchester City stronger than the Liverpool legend.
The pair have been compared several times over the years, with Rio Ferdinand claiming that Ederson has the edge over Alisson last October.
Herelho Gomes said Ederson was “more complete” than Alisson.
Both goalkeepers seem to make good changes to the national team. Both seem to be getting ample opportunities to start and prove their worth.
However, especially during the World Cup in Qatar, the Reds icon became the number one player for his country.
However, Herelho Gomes chose Ederson instead of Alisson to be complete.”It’s a difficult question, but I would choose Ederson. I think it’s a lot fuller,” he told talkSPORT.
Asked if Emiliano Martinez was the better of the two, the retired goalkeeper said: “No, no, that’s why [Emiliano Martinez is Argentine] and I like him too. But I say: Ederson and Alisson are the best goalkeepers.
Herelho Gomes also pointed out that Ederson provided an excellent pass to Alisson. “But Ederson is perfect. His back pass, Man City’s game, they use it very well.
Alisson is a bit better, I don’t know what to compare him to, but I think Ederson is a better goalkeeper, a complete goalkeeper, not a better goalkeeper, but a complete goalkeeper.
This debate is likely to continue in the coming months as both goalkeepers are having excellent seasons for Manchester City and Liverpool respectively.
Ederson takes every team he starts to a higher level than Liverpool’s top team.
We think Gomes Is considering more money because Ederson brings more money than Alisson.
While some believe the latter to be a good shot stopper, the former can take a team’s style of play to a new level.
That’s simply because Ederson, who signed for City for £35million in 2017, distributes the ball far better than the former Roma goalkeeper, who is now regarded as gold in the game.
When other aspects like being the best goalkeeper and claiming the centers come into play, both are on a level playing field.
With that in mind, it would only be right for Ederson to hand Alisson a place in Brazil in the future.
