Liverpool are set to agree lucrative terms with Curtis Jones, according to reports. The England centre-back has extended his contract in November 2022, which is due to expire in 2027, and will take home around £67,000-a-week.
Liverpool are ready to offer Jones a new and improved contract until 2029, according to an exclusive report published by Anfield Watch. The 22-year-old is one of the lowest paid senior players in the squad and deserves a big pay rise at Anfield.
In the summer transfer window, the Merseysiders brought in four midfielders – McAllister, Soboszlai, Endo and Gravenberch – with Klopp favoring new signings. In that scenario, Jones has only started seven Premier League games this season, but has recently shown just how important he is to the team. Against Newcastle United, Jones produced a remarkable performance, pulling the strings in the center of the park to score his first goal of the league campaign. Manager Jurgen Klopp praised the youngster after the Egypt match, saying it was an outstanding performance from the midfielder.
The German said:“We all know how good Curtis is. “He’s very good technically, but finds more direction on the dribble and overcomes situations better.”With Endo released on the international stage and Soboszlai sidelined for the next two games due to injury, Jones will need to do his best in midfield.
Do you think Curtis Jones deserves a new Liverpool contract?
