Michael Antonio believes Manchester city’s Calvin Phillips should be his preferred Premier League destination when he leaves Manchester City in January.
Phillips has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs who are struggling to secure game time for the City man.
Italian giants Juventus have shown interest but are no longer interested in signing the English midfielder.
Fabrizio Romano broke the news about Phillips’ future on Sunday, saying the Old Lady do not want to sign him and are currently prioritizing signing Lilla defender Thiago Giallo.
he wrote”Newcastle are interested in Calvin Phillips and several clubs could be in the running. “Juventus’ current priority is new centre-back Thiago Giallo.
“Newcastle are reportedly keen to sign a new defensive midfielder. Sandro Tonali has been suspended until next season and is called Phillips.
Manchester United are another club that can afford to put someone in sixth place. Casemiro exceeded expectations and Sofia Amrabat failed to impress.
It remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will sign Phillips, given that he is a Leeds United hero and currently plays for their city rivals. But West Ham striker Antonio says a move to Old Trafford makes more sense than a move to Newcastle or Liverpool, who are also heavily linked.
“I’m going to Juventus. After Juventus, it will be Manchester United and then the Jets,” Antonio said on the Footballers Football podcast.”Personally, I always wanted to play in Italy. “Inter Milan will always have a place in my heart, the city I love, I love Milan.”Earlier this week, City manager Pep Guardiola provided an update on the 28-year-old’s future.”I don’t know.
He said he’s been sick for the past five days and can’t train.” He said. “I have often said that he remains in the transfer market.
