Jurgen Klopp has issued a “clear” warning as Liverpool are expected to wait out the January transfer window

Following injuries to Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas, Jurgen Klopp was forced to recall left-back Owen Beck when the January transfer window opened. With Liverpool’s defense lacking and a new contract likely to be expensive, Beck’s return was a logical decision. Joe Gomez has proved a capable replacement in the absence of Robertson and Tsimikas, but Klopp will have to rely on his largely unproven youngsters if injuries occur.

Beck, 21, had a good loan spell at Dundee and the Scottish outfit are keen to keep him for the rest of the season, but Liverpool are set to bring him back on January 1.Beck was on the bench for the Carabao Cup opener against Fulham and could return to the squad for Sunday’s trip to Bournemouth. He is also likely to stay there unless Klopp is concerned about injuries. Both Robertson and Tsimikas should be back in training before the end of the month and Klopp is willing to wait until the last day of January before making any decision on Beck’s future.

According to Football Scotland, the teenager attracted interest from Celtic following his impressive performances for Dundee, before moving to Liverpool after being rejected. His former teammate the Rangers are also interested in Beck. With two years left on his contract, Liverpool are unlikely to approve Beck’s permanent departure this month with a seemingly more attractive loan deal. However, it is unclear whether he will become a regular for both clubs and Klopp has warned against progressing the player.
