Alan Shearer says he’s seen a ‘brilliant’ young player at Liverpool with ‘huge potential’

 

Alan Shearer has heaped praise on a Liverpool youngster who has really caught his eye this season.

Jurgen Klopp has a lot to be happy about this term. His side have already won the Carabao Cup are now in the running to win both the Premier League and the Europa League.

 

Most of his players have stepped up this season as well after a disappointing campaign last time out.

All of the above should make Klopp a happy man, but the thing he will be most proud of is the emergence of a few young players at Liverpool this season.

A number of Liverpool players have performed brilliantly this season, haven’t they?

Mohamed Salah has continued to be incredible, while Virgil van Dijk has returned to his best level this season. Darwin Nunez is doing really well too.

Most of the summer signings have impressed as well, especially Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo, who are both proving to be fantastic additions to the squad.

Youngsters like Conor Bradley have been amazing for Liverpool, as has Jayden Danns, who impressed everyone in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.

One young player who has caught Alan Shearer’s eye recently is Jarell Quansah.

The defender, who turned 21 in January, is having an unbelievable season. He has played much more than anyone would’ve expected and has been really impressive.

Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, Shearer lavished praise on young Quansah.

He said: “I like him and I think he has done really, really well.

“Watched him again at the weekend against Brighton, struggled a bit in the first half I thought, Brighton let him have the ball. But second half, more than grew into the game and was brilliant, read it really, really well.

“Without doubt, I mean, huge potential. To be thrown into the pressure cooker at Liverpool in the way it’s going at the moment, he’s obviously got a lot about him. he’s only going to get better.”
