He will now be eyeing to become the fifth player in the club’s history to score 200 goals when the Reds welcome Fulham to Anfield on Sunday.
Salah was struggling for goals at this stage last season, finding the back of the net on three occasions in his first 13 Premier League outings. But a resurgence in form during the second-half of the campaign saw him notch 19 league goals, and end up becoming the club’s top goalscorer in 2022-23.
This season, Salah has already hit 10 goals in the opening 13 top-flight games, with five assists to his name.
The experienced winger is now only behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (who has netted 14) in the Premier League Golden Boot race. However, the difference is not enormous and we believe the Egyptian can overtake the City striker for the prestigious award.
Haaland easily claimed the Golden Boot award last term as he bagged 36 goals to set a new Premier League record.
Only Harry Kane, who has now left to join Bayern Munich in the summer, provided him some competition as he finished second with 30 goals. Haaland has made a spectacular start this season, averaging more than a goal per Premier League match. But by this stage last term, the Norwegian had already smashed 17 with an incredible three hat-tricks to his name.
He will likely end up winning the Golden Boot, but Salah has the capability to overtake Haaland. The Egyptian has been delivering excellent performances and is currently only four goals behind.
Mohamed Salah has been enjoying an impressive form for Liverpool this season. The 31-year-old scored in their most recent game against LASK in the Europa League, reaching his 199th-goal for the Merseyside outfit.
