The Montreal Canadiens have announced the signing of highly touted goaltending prospect Jacob Fowler to a three-year, entry-level contract that will begin at the start of the 2025-2026 season. Fowler, who was selected by the Canadiens in the third round (69th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft, is widely regarded as one of the top goaltending prospects in North America.
Fowler’s impressive resume includes a World Juniors gold medal, Hockey East title, NCAA First Team, and Hockey East First Team all-star awards. This past season, he backstopped Boston College to a 25-7-2 record, posting a .940 save percentage, 1.63 goals against average, and seven shutouts in 35 games.
In addition to his entry-level contract with the Canadiens, Fowler has also signed a one-year, one-way contract with the Laval Rocket for the remainder of the season. He will join the team next week and is expected to split time with Cayden Primeau down the stretch. Fowler’s first practice with the Rocket is scheduled for April 9.
The signing of Fowler marks an exciting milestone for the Canadiens’ organization, as they continue to build for the future. With his impressive skills and accolades, Fowler is poised to become a key contributor to the team’s success in the years to come.
