There may actually be a player above Liam Delap and Dean Huijsen on Chelsea’s shortlist of transfer targets.
Delap and Huijsen are two individuals who have been heavily linked to the Blues as they look to strengthen their frontline and defence. Delap is looking for a lot of money, but Chelsea will only have to pay a £30m transfer fee for the striker following Ipswich Town’s relegation to the Championship.
As for Huijsen, the defender is thought to have a £50m release clause in his contract at Bournemouth. While Chelsea are keen on both him and Delap, they appear to be dreaming about another player.
Nico Williams is Chelsea’s ‘dream target’
Chelsea are also interested in Nico Williams, and the Athletic Bilbao winger may actually be at the very top of their list. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Williams is Chelsea’s “dream target”, though he is not the only wide man they are currently looking at.
Discussing the Blues’ transfer plans in his column for GiveMeSport, Romano said: “Chelsea are surely looking for a new winger to bring in soon and [Morgan] Rogers is one of the players they appreciate, perfect in terms of age and skills.
“He’s considered similar to Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens who’s high on the list along with dream target Nico Williams, but the price tag could be an issue for Rogers.”
