CONFIRMED: Liverpool to hire ex-Bayern Munich transfer guru.

Fallows will officially leave his role as director of scouting and recruitment for the Reds at the end of the year, with his time at Anfield drawing to a close after 12 seasons at the club.

 

Fallows was a key reason behind Liverpool’s success under Jurgen Klopp, but his departure comes amid a major reshuffle behind the scenes at Anfield.

This summer, Michael Edwards and Julian Ward both returned to the club, with the former now FSG’s head of football operations and the latter also working under FSG. In addition, Richard Hughes was appointed as Liverpool’s new sporting director.

Anfield Watch understands that Pilawa has been identified as an ideal addition to Liverpool’s boardroom staff and an agreement is close to being finalised.

Pilawa left his role at Bayern Munich in September and he is expected to replace Fallows at Liverpool, although it’s likely that he won’t operate until the exact same job title.

Dave Fallows leaves Liverpool

Liverpool confirmed the departure of Fallows in an official statement on the club’s website on Saturday 26 October.

In the statement, Fallows said: “I have been very privileged to work for this incredible football club.

 

“The fantastic people here starting with the supporters make it so special – to have had the opportunity to work with so many talented players and colleagues past and present who are now friends is something I am very grateful for.

“The leadership here, from ownership, through to Michael [Edwards], Richard [Hughes], Arne [Slot], Billy [Hogan] and Alex [Inglethorpe], is world-class. I have no doubt they will continue to thrive.

They are supported by great people across many departments who I will miss working with but will continue to stay close to.”

 

He continued: “There are far too many to mention but I am especially grateful to Barry Hunter and all those within the recruitment department who have been a joy to work alongside. Leaving in the knowledge that I will be leaving this place in such great shape is something that means a lot to me.
