Liverpool had Premier League clubs vying for his signature at his age.Conor Bradley impressed at Anfield in Wednesday night’s 4-1 defeat to Chelsea. He provided two assists and scored his first goal for Liverpool. But to the rest of the world, his death might have been accepted as Liverpool almost sealed a deal with London.
The 20-year-old, who was man of the match on Wednesday, was watched by Chelsea and Manchester United before deciding to join the Reds in 2019. The Northern Irishman has impressed many Liverpool fans with five assists and a goal in four games since being brought into the starting line-up.
The County Tyrone defender is still playing for Dungannon Swifts in 2019, but Premier League clubs have lined up to sign him following his promising performances in the Northern Ireland youth league.
When he was 15, Bradley told the Belfast Telegraph: “I played for Northern Ireland at Newry and then Chelsea and Manchester United also watched me [for Liverpool]. “I had trials at Manchester United and Southampton, but I chose Liverpool. Not because I support them, but because they are a real family club and we are truly grateful for that.
“They also care about education, which is very important to me. ”Signing for the Reds would require a permanent move from Northern Ireland, so Christian Brothers Grammar School in Omagh allowed him to skip Year 10 and take his GCSEs early.
At the time, Bradley said: “The fourth year was difficult but this year has improved a lot. I feel like I’ve become a bit more mature and able to do things.
Things don’t rinse much. “With Bradley exceeding expectations in recent weeks and Trent Alexander-Arnold returning, it will be interesting to see what decision Jurgen Klopp makes with both players. Whose right back will he start and is there a way to make both players happy?
