Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez have both been pictured at the AXA Training Centre as Liverpool continue their preparations for Sunday’s League Cup final.
The pair both missed the Reds’ 4-1 victory over Luton Town because of injury and remain doubts for the showpiece clash with Chelsea as a result. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, assistant manager Pep Lijnders confirmed that Liverpool would have to make a late decision on the attacking duo – along with midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
“Dom, Darwin, and Mo, we have to really see,” the Dutchman said on Friday morning. “We have two more days. Today’s session and tomorrow’s session.
“In the last minute we will check. If they can be there it will be great, to be honest.”
But despite the question marks hanging over their heads regarding their possible availability, both Salah and Nunez were pictured in good spirits at the AXA Training Centre ahead of training on Friday.
In a video released on the club’s social media channels, Nunez was seen chatting with Alexis Mac Allister after arriving at the club’s training base. Meanwhile, once changed into training wear, he was also spotted embracing and speaking to manager Jurgen Klopp. He would later retweet the club’s picture of him at the AXA Training Centre, as well as respond to it with a waving emoji.
