The former pub was one of many properties sold at Sutton Kersh’s auction
A former pub could become apartments after it sold at auction following a bidding war.
The crumbling former Standard pub on Thirlmere Road in Everton was listed for auction with Sutton Kersh with a guide price of over £15,000. Once the building is fully demolished, the land is said to be suitable for redevelopment to include a block of apartments or a retail unit.
The building that housed the pub, and later became Ritchie’s Bar, stands on the corner with Ullswater Road. It is around a ten minute walk to Anfield Stadium.
After an intense bidding war at the auction, it sold for £143,000, which was £128,000 over its guide price
The pub began the latest Sutton Kersh spring property auction, which took place this week. 80% off the lots offered sold, equating to over £7.4 million.
A lot on Breck Road had a guide price of £100,000 and sold for £164,000. Elsewhere, a vacant mixed-use investment property on Picton Road had a guide price of £125,000 and sold for £140,000.
A vacant three-bedroom semi-detached house on Rawlins Street in Kensington sold for £50,000 above the guide price of £90,000. Despite requiring refurbishment, the property attracted a lot of bidders, demonstrating the continued appetite for both residential and investment opportunities.
A lot on Back Mersey View in Waterloo had a lot of interest both pre-auction and on the day. This was for a block of 11 lock-up garages which are currently let, producing £6,600 per annum.
The land has planning permission to demolish these buildings and erect a pair of two-bed bungalows.
