DOUGLASVILLE, Georgia — NFL receiver Kadarius Toney, who spent most of the 2024 season on the Cleveland Browns practice squad, was arrested last weekend in Georgia after he was accused of attacking and strangling a woman, reports say.
TMZ Sports was the first to report on Toney’s arrest, citing police records. The incident reportedly occurred on Jan. 14 at a residence in Douglasville, Georgia, according to Douglas County court records.
An arrest warrant filed in court shows Toney, 26, is accused of putting his hand on the victim’s throat and squeezing hard enough that she was unable to breathe. The warrant says the woman was left with marks on her neck and petechial hemorrhaging in her eyes.
A warrant filed in court also shows Toney is accused of preventing the victim from using her cellphone to call for help. He canceled commands to call 911 while still assaulting the victim, records show.
ESPN reports Toney was booked on Feb. 6 in Georgia on counts of aggravated assault − strangulation and obstructing/harassing 911 calls. His bond was set at $25,000 on each count, according to ESPN.
