Five-star power forward Cameron Boozer will carry that torch in 2025-26, but there’s already a name to keep an eye on in the Class of 2026. According to 247Sports’ national basketball recruiting analyst Dushawn London, the Blue Devils are slated to meet with five-star forward Christian Collins on Tuesday.

London’s report didn’t specify which members of the Duke staff will travel to California to meet with Collins, but the Blue Devils are changing coasts to meet with the St. John Bosco High School product. The 6-foot-8 power forward is currently 247Sports’ No. 3 player in the Class of 2026 and the best talent at his position.

None of the top 17 players in the 247Sports rankings have committed yet, so head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff don’t have any elite talent locked in. Duke has needed to revamp its starting five in each of the last two offseasons, and if that trend holds after 2025-26, Collins could play a huge part in that ensuing rebuild.

Collins currently plays alongside Brandon McCoy, the nation’s second-ranked recruit, at St. John Bosco. Per MaxPreps, Collins averaged 13.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game on one of the country’s most competitive high school teams.

Many top programs, including the UCLA Bruins, Kansas Jayhawks, Alabama Crimson Tide, Louisville Cardinals, and Arizona Wildcats, have already offered Collins a spot, and Kentucky coach Mark Pope has already visited him. Now, it’s time for Duke to get in the mix and hopefully win the top-five recruit over.
