The Duke Blue Devils made a memorable run to the NCAA Tournament Final Four.
Now, the coaching staff is working hard to reassemble the roster for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
Kon Knueppel and Tyrese Proctor are a few top players who will not be returning to the Blue Devils. Duke’s best player, freshman Cooper Flagg, is expected to declare for the NBA draft as Knueppel and Proctor did.
However, with a strong incoming recruiting class and key returnees, Jon Scheyer should be confident Duke will once again compete at a high level.
Earlier this week, one important piece of the puzzle announced he would be returning to Durham for his junior season.
Caleb Foster, a former five-star prospect for the Blue Devils, elected to run it back.
What surprised many fans were the reactions to Foster’s latest post:
Upon the release of the news, Proctor revealed his thoughts.
“Downhill U Loading,” Proctor said
Proctor started 38 games for the Blue Devils, missing only one this season. He averaged 12.4 points per game and shot 40.5 percent from 3-point range.
During his freshman year, Proctor averaged 9.4 points per game and helped lead the Blue Devils to an ACC championship. In his sophomore season, he was named a team captain and averaged 10.5 points per game.
Foster’s return brings valuable experience to the floor for Scheyer. The 6-foot-5 guard from Harrisburg, N.C., appeared in 38 games, including the Final Four. In the 70-67 loss to Houston, Foster played 13 minutes and recorded four rebounds.
The Blue Devils will be chasing their sixth NCAA Tournament title in school history. Duke has not reached the championship game since 2015.
