Erling Haaland makes Man City vow after injury setback before Liverpool match


Erling Haaland has vowed to return ‘as soon as possible’ as Manchester City sweat over his fitness ahead of their clash against Liverpool.

The Reds travel to the Etihad Stadium next Saturday (November 25) for their showdown with Pep Guardiola’s side when first takes on second in the Premier League.

Liverpool are looking set to mount another title challenge, following last year’s dismal pursuit, as they sit just one point behind the reigning champions going into the clash.

City are currently weathering a series of injury problems, mounted by the latest ankle setback for the Norwegian international. Haaland limped out of their win over Faroe Islands in midweek and the extent of the issue has forced him out of their trip to face Scotland in the European Championships qualifiers.

Haaland expressed his disappointment in missing the opportunity to add to his international caps tally but showed his intent to be fit in time for the upcoming fixtures for the Citizens.

In a tweet on Saturday (November 18), he said: “Unfortunately, I am missing tomorrow’s game against Scotland. Wishing the boys all the best. Now treatment and trying to get back asap.
