The stadium, which is already in the conceptual design phase, will feature a futuristic dome structure with cutting-edge lighting, technology, and architecture. Modeled after some of the world’s most advanced multi-purpose arenas, the new facility will include retractable seating, a climate-controlled environment, interactive digital displays, luxury skyboxes, and 360-degree LED ribbon boards. At night, it will come alive with vibrant exterior lighting in the Wildcats’ signature blue, creating a glowing landmark visible across Lexington.

“This is more than a stadium—it’s a symbol of where the University of Kentucky is headed,” said Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart during the announcement. “Our alumni have shown once again that they believe in the power of sport, community, and innovation. With a projected seating capacity of over 70,000, the new facility could become the largest domed stadium in college sports, positioning Kentucky as a premier destination for top-tier athletic and entertainment programming.

University President Dr. Eli Capilouto praised the alumni community for its unprecedented generosity. “This donation reflects the unwavering passion of our alumni and fans. They are not just supporting a building—they are investing in our students, our teams, and the future of the Commonwealth,” he said.
