Every Liverpool player available for Sparta Prague as Mohamed Salah decision awaits

Liverpool takes on Sparta Prague in the Europa League with 10 players set to be missing for Jürgen Klopp but Mohamed Salah back in the matchday squad after injury. 

Liverpool will have Mohamed Salah back available for their Europa League Round of 16 tie against Sparta Prague.

Salah has played just two games for the Reds in 2024 having picked up a muscle injury at the Africa Cup of Nations in January. However, he’s now given Jürgen Klopp a welcome boost by traveling to the Czech Republic.

 

Klopp provided an update on his star man ahead of the game and hinted he could have some involvement, although it’s highly unlikely it will be from the start as they manage him carefully ahead of Sunday’s huge Premier League game against Manchester City. He now has a big decision to make regarding the level of his involvement now he has him back available.

Klopp said: “Mo Salah has traveled with us. He’s trained for two days and is full of energy, we have to see but it is so good he is back and that is good for us.

 

“He is so happy and it was an unlikely situation where he had so long out, played an incredible game v Brentford and then was out, that is how it is.

“We want to be careful but this is a super intense period of the season. We want to use him. It’s just good news.”

A host of players who have recently battled with injuries are back involved as part of the 23-man squad, such as midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endō plus defender Andy Robertson. However, several players remain sidelined.

Alisson Becker, Thiago Alcântara, Stefan Bajčetić, Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joël Matip, Diogo Jota and Ben Doak all remain out injured and have not traveled to Prague.

That opens the door to several young players, with eight making up part of the 23-man squad.

 

Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley, Bobby Clark, James McConnell, Kaide Gordon, Lewis Koumas, Mateusz Musiałowski and Fabian Mrozek arę all involved. However, Jayden Danns misses out after picking up a concussion having impressed in his cameo appearances for the first team in recent weeks.
