Chelsea are monitoring the progress of Morgan Rogers at Aston Villa, Fabrizio Romano has revealed exclusively on GIVEMESPORT – with Enzo Maresca keen on bringing in a wide attacker, as the forward continues to shine in the Premier League and the England national team.
Rogers only joined Villa last January for a fee of £8million rising to £16million from Championship side Middlesbrough, but he burst onto the scene in the top-flight with three goals and an assist in just 11 top-flight games, alongside featuring for the club in the Europa Conference League. But it’s been this season that has seen him really begin to strut his stuff, recording 27 goal involvements in just 50 games across three competitions – and that has seen Chelsea take a huge interest in his potential signing, according to Romano.
Romano: Chelsea Have Morgan Rogers ‘High on Shortlist’ This Summer
Romano revealed in an exclusive report for GIVEMESPORT that several top clubs in the Premier League are monitoring his meteoric progress at Villa Park, as he becomes proven in the top-flight – and after some excellent Champions League performances, he’s shot onto the Blues shortlist after being branded ‘unstoppable’ in the No.10 role.

Chelsea are looking for a new star, and Rogers is one of the players that they appreciate, with his age and skillset being ideal for the Blues’ mantra – although Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams are also on that shortlist, with Rogers’ price tag being a potential problem for Villa.
Sources further revealed that Liverpool have sent their scouts to watch Rogers’ progress, though Villa have no plans to let the England star leave, which could scupper Chelsea’s efforts to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea feel that an exit from the West Midlands outfit could be ‘complicated’, and other targets could be much more accessible – though they will continue to monitor his progress under Unai Emery, and if there are any surprise movements or potential exits in the summer window, they will be attentive to a potential deal being on the cards. Villa insist that they are more than happy with Rogers acting as one of their key players this season, and with the club heading into the final weeks of their campaign firmly in the race for European football once again, any final position in the Premier League table could be huge in terms of deciding Rogers’ future.
