Fans Issue Clear Angel Reese Response to Controversial Kim Mulkey Post
Before Angel Reese was a WNBA star for the Chicago Sky, she enjoyed a successful college career at Maryland and LSU. Coach Kim Mulkey was able to convince Reese to become a Tiger while she was in the transfer portal after two great years with the Terrapins.
While at LSU, Reese and her team won the National Championship in 2023, famously taking down the Caitlin Clark-led Iowa Hawkeyes in the final. However, one fan recently made a controversial post on X about Mulkey and her inability to develop players.
“i wonder why mulkey’s inability to successfully transfer her athletes from college to the w hasn’t been a topic of discussion,” the fan wrote.
Tallying over 125,000 views, this post came under a lot of fire.
“Uhh Angel Reese doesn’t exists tf wrong with yall. Shes literally the face of the league,” one fan wrote.
“Angel just had a top ten rookie season in the history of the W,” another added.
“Griner? Reese?” a fan asked.
“Dijonai, angel Nd nalyssa would like to have a word,” said another.
Fans were quick to point out several great WNBA players that Mulkey has developed, like Reese, DiJonai Carrington and NaLyssa Smith. Others felt the original post was not only wrong, but undermined the efforts of Reese and others at the professional level.
In the coming years, players like Hailey Van Lith, Aneesah Morrow and Flau’jae Johnson will also showcase their abilities at the WNBA level. This can further prove that Mulkey is the real deal and her players are built for the big stage
