A Philadelphia Eagles fan has been banned for life from attending events at Lincoln Financial Field after verbally harassing a female Green Bay Packers fan during Sunday’s wild card game. The fan, who has not been publicly identified, was caught on video using derogatory language towards the Packers fan, including calling her an “ugly, dumb (expletive)”.
The disturbing incident was captured on video by the Packers fan’s fiancé, Alexander Basara, who posted it on social media, where it quickly went viral. Basara condemned the Eagles fan’s behavior, calling it “unprovoked” and “uncalled for”. He also asked Packers fans to help identify the perpetrator.
The 43-second video shows the Eagles fan yelling insults at the Packers fan, who was simply cheering for her team. When Basara confronted the Eagles fan, he repeated the derogatory language and told Basara to “shut the (expletive) up”.
The Eagles organization has taken swift action, banning the fan from future events at Lincoln Financial Field. The team has not publicly identified the fan, but a New Jersey-based management consulting firm, BCT Partners, released a statement condemning the behavior and announcing an investigation into the incident.
The firm stated that the employee’s actions were “offensive” and “unacceptable” and that they would take appropriate action once the investigation is complete. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation, with many calling for greater accountability and respect for fans of opposing teams.
