Spring practices for college football teams across the country are currently underway, bringing a sense of optimism to several programs.
One team experiencing this renewed hope is the LSU Tigers. After having their worst season in the Brian Kelly era, where they finished with a record of 9-4 and marked their first non-10 win season, the Tigers are looking to bounce back.
ESPN’s Paul Finebaum shared his thoughts on “The Paul Finebaum Show,” stating that he has heard some encouraging news emerging from Baton Rouge. Although he is uncertain about the reasons behind the improvement, Finebaum emphasized that the positive atmosphere surrounding the team is high.
“I’m hearing great things about everything,” Finebaum said. “I don’t know. Maybe I missed last season and the year before, but there was a transformation that went on. It wasn’t in front of our eyes because I don’t really know how it’s happening. The positivity down there is really off the charts.”
Much of the optimism surrounding LSU for the upcoming season likely stems from both its returning players and recent additions. The Tigers rank 38th in the nation for returning production, with 62% of its roster returning. This includes star quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, who threw for 4,052 yards and 29 touchdowns last season.
In addition, according to 247Sports, the Tigers achieved the No. 1 ranking in the transfer portal this offseason and secured the No. 10 recruiting class. When combined with their returning talent for 2025, that is likely why there is a sense of optimism for the next year.
Missouri vs Kentucky
I backed Kentucky to win the game. Because they’re very outstanding and they will definitely win.
