He has consistently performed at the highest level, making numerous big saves and becoming a reliable player among Spurs’ defenders. The 27-year-old was also a leader and quickly became a popular player for Spurs. His performances were crucial to Ange’s new era at Spurs, who started the season unbeaten in 10th place and finished first.
Despite a temporary dip in form due to injury, they have won four of their last five games and are just one point off fourth place and six points clear of top spot. Ben Foster praised the Italian, claiming Alisson Becker is now ahead of him as the best goalkeeper in the world, while Vicario is the best in the league so far this season. Foster said on his YouTube channel The Cycling GK:”I went to Vicario and they brought him from Empoli for £17m. I think Alisson is the best goalkeeper in the world, and so do I, It’s simple. “He is the best goalkeeper in the world.”“But so far this season we’ve seen goalkeepers make great saves.
“If you were the goalkeeping coach at Tottenham and you were responsible for bringing that keeper in, honestly, you could do whatever you want for years. Because you could live off that guy. “It’s amazing how a top club like Spurs can bring someone in for £17m and start so quickly for so little money.
“TBH says:Alisson Becker has been arguably the best goalkeeper in the league for several years. But Vicario is clearly at the top of the league with his performances this season. It was a lot of fun and got the recognition it deserves.
Spurs signed a contract with the fifth Empoli series for £ 17 million by the Italian international companies. Since his arrival he has made an immediate impact and has become one of Spurs’ best players this season.
