‘In contact’… Agent confirms Liverpool are in talks with 26-year-old defender who will leave this summer

 

Liverpool are looking at summer arrivals over January transfers at the moment. The priority is on the summer window for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

It is a window where the expectations will fall on Liverpool to address the defensive department. With a few ageing players, Jurgen Klopp is expected to rejuvenate his centre-back options. Much in the same way he did to his midfield last summer.

Ahead of that window, Liverpool have been in touch with the representatives of several players. And yet another one has now just been revealed. A player who seems to tick a lot of boxes, and who is expected to be on the move in the summer.

David Hancko to Liverpool?

David Hancko is a player who is on Liverpool’s radar, and this has seemingly just been confirmed by his agent as well.

Speaking to Czech outlet, TN.cz, Branislav Jašurek from the FairSport International agency revealed that he has been in contact with Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain, when asked about those two clubs.

“As an agency, we are in contact not only with these two clubs, but also with others who are looking into Dávid’s situation. I estimate that 80-90% David will stay in Rotterdam, because Feyenoord is fighting for the Champions League and the people at Feyenoord know that David Hancko will be sold even in the summer and maybe better than now.”

 

From the above it seems pretty clear that Hancko is expected to leave Feyenoord at the end of the season. At 26-years-old he is entering his prime years, and he could be an excellent addition for Liverpool.

The Slovakian international is not only capable of playing as a left or right sided centre-back, but he’s also played a lot his career as a left-back. That versatility makes him an intriguing candidate, and one to watch for Liverpool.
