North Carolina star freshman forward Caleb Wilson is out for Clemson basketball’s game vs. UNC, per the ACC’s availability report
Clemson (21-8, 11-5 ACC) will face No. 18 North Carolina (23-6, 11-5) on March 3 (7 p.m. ET, ESPN) at Smith Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Wilson fractured his left hand against Miami on Feb. 10. He is UNC’s leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 19.8 points (fourth in ACC) and 9.4 rebounds (third).
North Carolina coach Hubert Davis said Wilson had his cast removed and is participating in individual workouts. He added Wilson can dribble, shoot and catch but can’t do anything with contact and five on five.
UNC has won four of its last five games without Wilson, a projected top-five pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Clemson coach Brad Brownell said North Carolina plays a similar game despite not having Wilson. “He’s an incredible talent, player, but I think Hubert’s done an unbelievable job,” Brownell said March 2. Clemson looks to win its third straight game against UNC for the first time in program history.
