Hi, what are you looking for?

Chelsea

Jorge Mendes has contacted Chelsea to try and get winger to Stamford Bridge after Joao Felix flop

Chelsea will be looking to add to their attack at the end of the season too, with a new striker top of the list of priorities.

They are also keen on bringing in a new winger after performances from the likes of Jadon Sancho have not lived up to the expectations put on them.

With a number of names on their shortlist, one of those who has been linked for a number of seasons now is Rafael Leao, however now may be the best time to sign him.

Jorge Mendes contacts Chelsea about signing Rafael Leao

It is believed that Leao is no longer seen as untouchable at AC Milan, and this will have put the Blues on notice as they weigh up their options for the end of the season.

Simon Phillips has reported that Leao’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has been in touch with Chelsea to discuss a potential summer deal.

He said on his Substack: “Chelsea have recent interest in Leao and did approach Milan and his agents under our new owners to see about a deal in the past, but it obviously did not happen at that time.  “Sources have heard that Leao’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has been in talks with Chelsea this week regarding a potential move for his client. At the moment, Chelsea are just exploring the conditions of any deal for the 25-year-old.

“The Portuguese international has always been collectively admired by the Chelsea recruitment team, and there is a feeling that he would be a popular choice to go for as priority.”

Jorge Mendes’ power over Chelsea

This is not the first time Chelsea have dealt with a Mendes client. Pedro Neto is one of the players who is represented by the Super Agent.

Joao Felix is also under his books, and was brought in by the Blues over the summer despite reports saying Enzo Maresca didn’t want Felix at Stamford Bridge.

It is clear the stint was not a success. The Portugal international left on loan to move to Milan after just six months at the club.

These scenarios are exactly what Chelsea need to be looking to avoid when it comes to the upcoming transfer market, given how large the failure of the Felix signing has turned out to be.
