Swiss football journalist Marcel Reif has provided a transfer update that is sure to get Liverpool fans excited.
It has been a few good months for Liverpool fans as they have watched Arne Slot’s side entertain on the field.
The Reds have won 15 out of their first 17 games under the Dutchman, taking them to the top of the Champions League and Premier League tables. They have also secured a place in the last eight of the Carabao Cup.
Despite their brilliant start, Liverpool are already looking ahead with plans to strengthen the current squad already underway.
Names like Rayan Cherki, Jonathan David, Milos Kerkez have all been linked with a possible switch to Anfield.
But of all the names linked with a move to Liverpool, none has intrigued fans like Omar Marmoush.
The Egyptian is in serious form this season and is rubbing shoulders with Mohamed Salah in the scoring and assists charts this season.
Eintracht Frankfurt are desperate to keep their gem, but several top sources including Germany’s BIld continues to link him with a move to Anfield, where he is seen as Salah’s successor.
Salah himself recently discussed his compatriot amid comparisons with him.
When quizzed on comparisons with his younger peer, Salah believes that this kind of talk will not be helpful to Marmoush:
“There are not many players from Egypt and the Arab countries who went to Europe and fought for success, and Marmoush is one of them. I see that he has great potential, he is an important player for his team and the national team, I want to stay away from him the idea of comparisons to make his life easier.”
With the transfer heating up, Swiss journalist Marcel Reif has shared his thoughts Omar Marmoush’s links to Liverpool.
What Marcel Reif said about Omar Marmoush to Liverpool
In an exclusive interview with Bild (news image provided below), the journalist revealed that the Egyptian international will join the Reds in the summer.
The headline of the German source states, “I would bet on Marmoush to Liverpool”.
In the paper, the 74-year-old claimed he is “sure” that the Eintracht Frankfurt forward will stay with the Bundesliga side until the end of the campaign and then move to England
Reif said:
“It’s no secret that he will likely move to Liverpool next summer. I would bet a few euros on that. As the successor to his great idol Mo Salah. Things can hardly go better for him.”
