Jürgen Klopp asked Sir Alex Ferguson to win late in the Premier League with Liverpool’s 2-1 crystalline palace.
Ferguson’s team from Manchester coached for 26 years,at Man United preferred the skating. Stoppage time was dubbed ‘Fergie Time’ by fans due to the Red Devils’ blistering goal, but his record has now been broken by the manager of United’s arch-rivals.
Harvey Elliott robbed Liverpool of a 91st-minute winner at Selhurst Park to send them top of the Premier League. His goal was Liverpool’s 17th 90th-minute winner in the Premier League era. That’s one more than the 16 Fergusons managed. Liverpool’s late goal could spell bad news for Manchester United, who travel to Anfield next Sunday after losing 3-0 at home to Bournemouth. Klopp and company had a much better weekend than their former rivals despite losing to Crystal Palace. The win means Arsenal finish the weekend top after losing to Aston Villa.
That didn’t mean Klopp was completely satisfied with his side’s performance, which was difficult. He told TNT Sports on Saturday: “It’s 76 minutes away from us and it’s a very bad game. We came here and Crystal Palace were a bit confident at the start, their confidence was very low and you could see we could have done a lot but we didn’t.
