Williams Provides Impact on Both Ends
Williams has been an essential piece for Kentucky, contributing both as a dominant rebounder and a versatile offensive facilitator. The Drexel transfer is averaging 11.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game—career highs in rebounds and assists. He also leads the Wildcats in field-goal percentage (58.0%) and blocks (40). His defensive presence and efficiency in the paint have been critical to Kentucky’s success.The Nottingham, England, native has recorded 10 double-doubles this season, ranking second in the SEC. He also etched his name in Kentucky history by becoming just the fourth player in program history to register a triple-double, achieving the feat with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists against Ole Miss.
Williams’ dominant inside presence was further highlighted in a game against Vanderbilt, where he became the first Division I or NBA player since Pau Gasol in 2010 to record at least 15 points and four blocks while shooting 100% from the field and free-throw line without committing a foul.
Williams was a preseason selection to the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award Watch List, an honor given to the nation’s top center. With his consistent performances on both ends of the floor, he has cemented his status as one of the top big men in college basketball.
