Cincinnati, OH – In a move that underscores the dynamic nature of college basketball’s transfer landscape, veteran guard Kerr Kriisa has committed to the University of Cincinnati for his final season of eligibility. This decision follows a challenging year at the University of Kentucky, where injuries limited his contributions on the court.

A Journey Through Collegiate Basketball

Kriisa’s collegiate journey has been marked by resilience and adaptability. Beginning at the University of Arizona, he showcased his playmaking abilities, leading the Pac-12 in assists during consecutive seasons. Seeking new challenges, he transferred to West Virginia University for the 2023–24 season, where he averaged 11.0 points and 4.7 assists per game. His tenure with the Mountaineers was highlighted by his leadership and sharpshooting, leading the team in three-pointers made.

In May 2024, Kriisa transferred to Kentucky. However, his time with the Wildcats was marred by a foot injury sustained during a game against Gonzaga on December 7, 2024, which required surgery and sidelined him for the remainder of the season. In his nine appearances for Kentucky, Kriisa averaged 4.4 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game.

Transition to Cincinnati

Following the conclusion of the 2024–25 season, Kriisa entered the transfer portal once again, seeking an opportunity to make a significant impact in his final collegiate year. On April 6, 2025, he announced his commitment to the Cincinnati Bearcats, marking his fourth collegiate program.
