Liverpool are currently top of the table, five points ahead of Manchester City, but that will soon change.Liverpool are currently five points clear at the top of the Premier League, but Jurgen Klopp knows this is a “false advantage”. The Reds have 48 points from 21 games, while Manchester City are 43 ahead of Arsenal and Aston Villa. However, Pep Guardiola’s reigning champions have just one game left to play as the Gunners and Villas have played each other 21 times. City won the FIFA Club World Cup last month, beating Fluminense 4-0 in Saudi Arabia on December 22. The home game against Brentford on 23 December was postponed due to tournament involvement. Liverpool have the chance to go seven points clear of City ahead of their game against Arsenal that weekend. However, the 1-1 draw leaves the Gunners a point above the Reds if Klopp’s men can overtake them after back-to-back defeats to West Ham United and Fulham over the festive period.
