Liverpool look set to lose the race to sign Hacken youngster Momodu Lamine Sonko. According to Swedish publication Aftonbladet, his club have received a “big offer” for the 18-year-old from the Belgian side. Hacken manager Martin Eriksson has confirmed offers from Club Brugge and Gent. “There is a real, serious offer,” said sporting manager Martin Eriksson.
He continued: “I don’t comment on any club. “There is a lot of speculation,” he said.Aftonbladet claim the offer is between £4.5m and £5.3m, meaning his sale could be a club record for Haken. The sticker lists Liverpool, Barcelona and RB Leipzig as among the clubs he has previously been linked with. Sonko’s relationship with Liverpool is recent. Last week, the player himself revealed that some of his United-supporting friends had asked him to move to Anfield due to market speculation.
Last week, the Swedish press reported that Liverpool were among the clubs that had taken “strong action” to sign him. Now, if Manchester United do not make him a transfer offer, it looks like he could go to Belgium.
