Liverpool mass brawl: Police share CCTV after huge fight erupts locking down streets.

Three men were arrested following a reported brawl, which saw a group of males, some allegedly armed with weapons, fighting on a street in Liverpool – causing it to be locked down

 

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have information on an alleged mass brawl that erupted on a residential street in Liverpool, which saw the area locked down and three people rushed to hospital.

Shocking images saw a van with a smashed windscreen as several police cars and ambulances assembled to begin their enquiries.

Merseyside Police said “we are taking this extremely seriously” as they announced they had already arrested three men following reports that a group of males, some armed with weapons, began fighting on Lower Breck Road in Anfield.

The force said in an update that they have now charged three people, each with two counts of section 18 wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. The men charged are Neil McGovern, 36, of September Road, Anfield, Liverpool, Alan McGovern, 41, of September Road, in Anfield and Michael Lawal, 45, of Lower Breck Road, in Anfield.

 

All three men were remanded to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court on Thursday, October 24. Another 27-year-old male from Kensington, who was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault, was released under investigation.

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in case he has information to help with their enquiries. Detective Inspector Steve Street said: “This was clearly a shocking incident and our investigation is progressing with four people arrested so far and three of them charged.”
