Liverpool has received a huge injury boost after it was confirmed that at least three stars returned to first-team training.
It has been a few good months for Liverpool under Arne Slot, who has led the club to the top of the Premier League and Champions League tables.
The Dutchman has been a revelation since he moved to Anfield. Under him, Liverpool have taken 15 wins in 17 games, losing only to Nottingham Forest and drawing to Arsenal.
The Reds have achieved this feat despite having a few injury problems.
Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones. Trent Alexander Arnold, Conor Bradley, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa, Alisson Becker, and even Andy Robertson have all had fitness concerns this season. But their absences have not derailed the Reds, who have continued to march forward.
However, there is no denying that the Reds could do with a larger squad, especially as we near the hectic Christmas season when Liverpool play almost every three days.
Slot’s side has managed without some of its players but received a huge boost after three players returned to first-team training.
Who are the three Liverpool players that have returned from injury?
Alisson Backer, Harvey Elliott and youngster Jayden Danns have all returned to first-team training following varying spells on the sidelines for the trio
Alisson was injured last month in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace. He was expected to return a bit later but quickly recovered.
Liverpool’s training pictures uploaded on the club’s official website also revealed that Elliott and Danns have both made long-awaited returns to first-team training.
Last week, Elliott was involved in light training with the club’s U21 as he continued his rehab. But the latest pictures now suggest the midfielder could be available for selection for Slot.
Meanwhile, Danns, who has been out with a stress fracture in his back since the summer, has also returned to training.
The youngster burst onto the scene at Anfield last season and made five first-team appearances under Jurgen Klopp.
The highlight of his time with the senior team was the Reds’ FA Cup clash with Southampton at Anfield, in which he netted a brace to send Liverpool through to the quarter-finals.
There are high hopes for Danns amongst those at Liverpool, and it was expected that he would head out on loan to get more minutes this season. However, the loan move was scuppered by the injury he sustained.
But having returned to training, the youngster can now focus on impressing Slot, who has not had the opportunity to watch him since his move to Liverpool.
