Liverpool need to sign a Sadio Mane-like player who fits Jurgen Klopp’s style of play perfectly.
Liverpool are famous for churning out players for years before bringing them to Anfield. This was recently the case for Dominic Szoboslai, who has been following Liverpool since Red Bull Salzburg. But he is not alone.
Liverpool scouts are keeping an eye on Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez as they play at home in South America, representing Colombia and Uruguay respectively.
Mohamed Salah was angered by Liverpool during his time at Basel before moving to Chelsea and then Anfield a few years later.
By following players closely over a number of years, club scouts are able to gauge not only a player’s full potential but also their behaviour, watching them grow from teenagers to men and cope with the pressure of increasingly challenging big.
Perhaps one of the reasons Liverpool’s signings have been so successful is this extensive research and what sets the Reds apart from the rest of the Premier League.
Midtjylland FC’s Franculino is a player who should be on the club’s radar as Liverpool look to pursue early signings. The Guinea-Bissau forward, a product of Benfica’s academy, signed for the Danish side last summer and has been attracting attention since arriving at Midtjylland.
So far Franculino has scored 12 goals and 3 assists in 18 games for the club, playing a total of 829 minutes.
That means he is averaging a goal or assist every 55 minutes for his club this season, an impressive tally.
