Liverpool Team News: Injuries, suspension list vs Norwich City

With a game at Wembley in hand, Liverpool will aim to progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup when they take on Norwich City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. Liverpool drew Chelsea 1-1 in the FA Cup semi-final before coming back to beat Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night to win 3-2. Jurgen Klopp’s men will be looking to complete a domestic cup double in 2021/22, although they tried their luck long ago against Arsenal when United won 2-0 in the FA Cup third round.

Here, Sports Mole recaps Liverpool’s latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Norwich, which required a replay to send Bristol City into the third round.

In contrast, Wataru Endo had an uneventful performance in the Asian Cup match against Japan, with the midfielder yet to feature for the national team.

Dominic Szoboszlai

Dominik Soboszlai missed the boat for the trip to Craven Cottage with a hamstring injury but is back in the squad and expected to feature on Sunday barring any complications.

Costas Tsimikas

Kostas Tsimikas underwent immediate surgery to repair a serious fracture sustained in the Premier League game against Arsenal in December and the left-back will continue his rehabilitation for several weeks before being cleared to return to the first team.

Joel Matip Status: Disabled Type of injury: knee Possible date of return: unknown
Ahead of Liverpool’s EFL Cup clash with Fulham, Joel Matip tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in a Premier League game against the Cottagers in December. This means the season is over for Cameroon.

Thiago Alcantara
Status: Disabled Type of injury: hip Possible return date: February 24 (v Luton Town)
Thiago Alcantara has suffered two setbacks since April in his recovery from a hip injury but could return to action in February if his recovery goes to plan this time around.

Stepan Bajcetic Status: Disabled Injury Type: Calf Possible return date: February 24 (v Luton Town)
