Liverpool defender David Hanko has signed a new contract with Feyenoord despite interest from Liverpool. The 26-year-old is one of several left-handed centre-backs to be linked with a move to Anfield in recent months after impressing for the Slovak side in the Eredivisie.
The centre-back, who can also play as a left-back, fits the profile of a Liverpool player and would be a more economical signing than Sporting CP’s £52m Goncalo Inacio. But if he leaves Feyenoord this summer, David Hanko will cost the Reds more after signing a new contract with the Dutch club on Thursday. Hanko has extended his stay at De Kuip until 2028 and it is not yet known what kind of opt-out clause his new contract includes.
Liverpool will also have to fend off interest from French champions Paris Saint-Germain, who have Hanko’s Slovakian centre-back Milan Skriniar in their squad. According to the player, Branislav is sold and sold in the summer of January until January. “As a table, we are contacted with other clubs studying these two clubs and David’s situations.”
“I think 80-90% that David will stay in Rotterdam [in January] because Feyenoord is fighting for the Champions League and the people of Feyenoord know that David Hanko will be sold in the summer and will be better than he is now.”
United are also targeting Premier League duo Tosin Adarabioyo and Lloyd Kelly, who are set to become free agents this summer. Ousmane Diomand is another name on Liverpool’s transfer wishlist, with the club looking to strengthen their base with someone in the dugout after Jurgen Klopp this summer.
