A number of Premier League clubs are interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones. Jones, who joined the club aged nine, progressed through Liverpool’s youth ranks before making his senior debut against MK Dons in the EFL Cup in September 2019.
The 23-year-old scored 16 goals and provided 14 assists in 122 appearances for his hometown club. Jones has been active in the first team this season, scoring 5 goals and 3 assists in 25 games in all competitions. While he contributed to Liverpool’s impressive campaign, his performances caught the attention of clubs across the country.
According to the Daily Mail, the former England U21 international is said to be interested in a number of Premier League sides.
Any attempt to sign Jones after Thursday’s transfer deadline will have to wait until the window reopens at the end of the season. However, Liverpool are under no pressure to sell the youngster, whose contract expires in the summer of 2027. Jones will be essential for Liverpool’s future plans if Jurgen Klopp resigns as a coach at the end of this season.
The midfielder will now turn his attention to Sunday’s Premier League clash with rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Jones, who has started each of Liverpool’s last three top-flight games, is expected to keep his place in crucial matches. Liverpool, with 51 points from 22 games, are currently five points clear of Premier League leaders Manchester City and Arsenal.
