Man City star Kyle Walker’s honest Curtis Jones comment speaks volumes about Liverpool midfielder

Manchester City captain Kyle Walker has delivered a honest assessment of Curtis Jones following his debut for the England national team. The Liverpool midfielder is enjoying a sensational start to the season under Arne Slot.

Jones was handed his senior debut for England by interim manager Lee Carsley last month. He starred for the Three Lions in the 3-0 win over Greece and the 5-0 victory against Republic of Ireland.

The Liverpool midfielder had quite the debut scoring England’s third and final goal against Greece in Athens. After his debut, Jones took to Instagram and wrote: “Dream debut, grateful. See you at Wembley.”

It was the first time Jones played alongside Walker, having faced him many times in the Premier League. Speaking about the 23-year-old’s performances in both games, the City star delivered a glowing assessment: “I thought Curtis Jones in both of the games was fantastic,” he told BBC Radio Five Live.”

I think he played really well. It’s the first time that I’ve played with him – obviously played against him numerous times for Liverpool but to actually play with him, he’s got some ability. I just feel he controlled the game, he played the game at his tempo, he got on the ball.”I feel that, normally when certain players or players in the past, have come into the England team and got their debut, they’ve not really expressed themselves as what he did. I think that just shows the confidence he’s taken on from this season, given the game time he’s got at Liverpool under the new manager and he’s brought into the national team – I thought he was a breath of fresh air.”
