Michael Owen says West Ham United star is better than Liverpool’s Mo Salah this season

Former England striker Michael Owen says West Ham United star Jared Bowen is better than Mo Salah. West Ham and Liverpool are both in very good form this season and Owen Bowen is a big part of that. The two strikers have a similar profile and Bowen said Salah is his benchmark. But the former Ballon d’Or winner believes the Hammers star will leave the Egyptian behind this season.

Speaking to the Premier League’s official website, Owen explained why he feels that way.“Mo Salah is having another great season, but I’d pick Jared Bowen. He had a huge impact on West Ham’s success. Playing on the right, in the middle or a mix of both, he is a threat for the main goal. “He was impressive in front of goal and scored 11 goals in the Premier League, just one of the best of 12 goals in a season.”This statement might anger Liverpool fans, especially those of the former legend.

However, this is the unbiased opinion of an experienced professional. Sometimes it is impossible to prove his point. Another former Liverpool player, Jamie Carragher, and his teammate Gary Neville were both named West Ham stars in the Team of the Season. The latter controversially named four forwards in his squad, including Erling Haaland, Salah and Son Heung-min.
