Mikel Arteta makes another claim about the Liverpool game straight after Arsenal lose last night

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has once again highlighted his side’s level with Liverpool after last night’s defeat by West Ham United.

The Gunners’ title campaign suffered a major blow on Thursday when they lost 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium. Immediately after the game, pundits Alan Shearer and Jermain Defoe predicted that defeat would see Arsenal finish third as Premier League title favourites, behind Manchester City and Liverpool.

While that may be true, Arteta’s side created enough chances to win the game against the Hammers. And the Spanish coach said in his post-match press conference that it was the same scenario at Anfield on Saturday.

“Usually when a team scores that many points they start winning games and that’s how we did it,” explained the 41-year-old.

“Because we will score a lot of goals against Brighton and Liverpool, but we score goals in a different way and we have to step up if we want to win games more easily.

“There is no doubt because you deserve it.”Arteta regrets that he lost the opportunityWe’re not sure we agree with Arteta here. Arsenal didn’t do much against Liverpool last weekend.

The only thing that comes to mind is the one-on-one between Gabriel Martinelli and Alisson Becker that went under the bar. Otherwise, the “Reds” goalkeeper could not do anything.

Ibrahim Konate’s outstanding performance in particular helped keep the Gunners at bay most of the time. We were unlucky last night but it’s a bit unfair to blame Arteta’s performance for Liverpool on that.

The former Everton midfielder seems to suggest that his side have consistently dropped points despite being dominant. That didn’t happen at Anfield. In fact, the best chance of the game went to Liverpool. Arsenal would have lost if Trent Alexander-Arnold’s late shot had hit the crossbar.

Considering that they were removed by a very clean handball in the penalty area, it would be a bit exaggerated to say that Arteta’s failure to win was too many wasted opportunities. In any case, how and why Arsenal dropped points has nothing to do with Liverpool. Until I fall There is a title to be won.
