NCAA Sends Emotional Message After Cooper Flagg’s Final Duke Game

Cooper Flagg produced one of the best freshman seasons in college basketball history with the Duke Blue Devils.

 

Flagg, a Naismith Player of the Year finalist, had an incredible performance against the Houston Cougars in the Final Four, but it wasn’t enough to lift Duke over the hump.

Duke lost to Houston, 70-63 in the Final Four, eliminating themselves from national title contention.

Following the brutal loss for Duke, the NCAA posted a video of Flagg exiting the court for what was more than likely his final game with the Blue Devils.

“The emotions of March Madness,” posted the official social media account of NCAA March Madness. “Cooper Flagg makes his exit at the Alamodome.”

Flagg finished the game with 27 points, seven rebounds and four assists. The freshman served as the Blue Devils’ leading scorer yet again. Duke also had great production from fellow freshman, Kon Knueppel.

Knueppel capped his freshman season recording 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists in the Final Four loss to Houston.

According to Bleacher Report’s latest NBA mock draft, Flagg is considered the No. 1 prospect head into the draft. A couple of other major organizations, including ESPN predict Flagg will be the No. 1 overall pick.
