A sports memorabilia shop in North Carolina has announced a 1-of-1 Cooper Flagg trading card was found by a customer of the store.
Score More Sports in Winston-Salem said the Cooper Flagg Superfractor autograph card was pulled by a lifelong Duke basketball fan who had bought a box of Topps Bowman Chrome University Basketball cards.Flagg, a native of Newport, Maine, led Duke to the Final Four and won five major national player of the year awards.
The one-of-a-kind card was released just last week, according to Topps. The store manager at Score More Sports called the card the “best hit you can possibly get.”
A Superfractor card is the rarest type of refractor card, which are cards that create a rainbow effect when held up to light.
When Flagg autographed the card, he signed it: “C. Flagg from the 207” — a nod to his home state’s singular area code.
“It’s pretty cool to see. People around here will definitely think that’s a really cool piece,” said Ryan Farr, operations manager at of Don’s Sports Card Center in Portland.
In January, Flagg signed an exclusive trading card, autograph and memorabilia deal with Fanatics, which owns Topps.
A week ago, a different Flagg Superfractor autograph card sold for $84,500 at auction, according to Sports Illustrated. That 1-of-1 card featured a photo of Flagg from portrait day for the 2024 McDonald’s All-American Game.
Flagg is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NBA draft, but he had not officially declared for the draft as of Thursday morning.
