_Ryan Clark Unloads on Big Ben: ‘He’s Wrong’ About Steelers’ Issues_
Former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark has come out swinging against his former teammate and friend, Ben Roethlisberger, after the legendary quarterback criticized the team’s current state. Clark, known for his outspoken and honest commentary, didn’t mince words, saying Roethlisberger is “wrong” about the Steelers’ issues.
Roethlisberger, who spent 18 seasons with the Steelers, recently expressed his disappointment with the team’s direction, citing a lack of leadership and accountability. However, Clark, who played alongside Roethlisberger from 2006 to 2013, strongly disagrees with his assessment.
“I think Ben is wrong,” Clark said during a recent appearance on ESPN’s “Get Up!” “I think he’s wrong about the leadership, I think he’s wrong about the accountability. I think the Steelers have a great locker room, I think they have guys who are willing to lead and willing to be accountable.”
Clark, who won two Super Bowls with the Steelers, believes Roethlisberger’s criticism stems from his own experiences and biases. “Ben’s perspective is skewed,” Clark said. “Ben’s perspective is based on what he knows, and what he knows is the Steelers of the past. He doesn’t know the Steelers of the present.”
The Steelers have undergone significant changes since Roethlisberger’s retirement, including the departure of several key players and coaches. However, Clark believes the team’s core values and culture remain intact.
“The Steelers are still the Steelers,” Clark said. “They still have the same values, the same principles. They still have guys who are willing to work hard, who are willing to lead, and who are willing to be accountable.”
Clark’s comments are a testament to the strong bonds and loyalty that exist among Steelers alumni. While Roethlisberger’s criticism may have been well-intentioned, Clark’s response serves as a reminder that opinions and perspectives can vary greatly, even among those who have shared experiences and successes.
As the Steelers continue to navigate their post-Roethlisberger era, Clark’s words offer a vote of confidence in the team’s current leadership and direction. While there may be disagreements and differing opinions, one thing is certain – the Steelers will continue to be a team built on strength, resilience, and a commitment to excellence.
