New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan is returning for a 15th season in the NFL.
Jordan officially announced things on Wednesday night through his social channels, saying on his Instagram, “Yr 15 incoming… there’s more Levelz… Black and Gold 9…4ever Whodat!
He’ll be back on a reworked deal, but those financials have not been reported yet. We’re not that shocked that Jordan is back with the Saints. It’s extremely rare to see one player last as long in the NFL, let alone be with the same franchise for the entire duration of one’s career, but that’s the trajectory Jordan is on. On Jan. 1, 2023, Cam Jordan became the Saints all-time sack leader, an honor that was held for a long time by the Dome Patrol’s Rickey Jackson. He sacked then Eagles quarterback Gardner Minshew for the record in his 27th multi-sack game of his career.
Entering 2025, Jordan is tied with Clyde Simmons for 22nd in NFL history with 121.5 sacks. Sacks did not become an official NFL statistic until 1982. Jordan needs just two more to get into the Top 20, as he’d pass Simeon Rice (122.0) and Robert Mathis (123.0). If Brandon Staley’s new defense and his usage can help Jordan out and get him more takedowns, then he could also pass up Dwight Freeney (125.5) and Derrick Thomas (126.5).
