Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman wants to test his running abilities against Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston.
During Monday’s Browns-Broncos game, Aikman boldly claimed that he can beat Winston in a race.
“He runs a 5-flat 40. I think, I think, I could beat him. In the day, for sure. I tore my hamstring a year ago at Barry’s Bootcamp. And I’ll be darned. That thing still hasn’t healed up,” Aikman said.
Even though Aikman hasn’t played an NFL game in over 20 years, he still thinks he can beat Winston in a race.
Winston threw for 497 yards and four touchdowns but his three interceptions were too costly in the Browns 41-32 loss to the Broncos. The Browns are now 3-9 and are almost fully eliminated from playoff contention.
Winston has been starting for the last five games after the Browns lost Deshaun Watson for the season with a torn Achilles. So far this season, Winston is completing 61.3% of his passes for 1,763 yards through the air, 11 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
The Browns will be back in action this Sunday when they travel to Pittsburgh to take on the 9-3 Steelers. They beat the Steelers on Thursday Night Football on November 21 in Cleveland and will go for the season sweep on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Steelers will go for a season split and their 10th win.
